The 8 billion euro question. Zelensky indicted the European Union

55views

Vladimir Zelensky made an accusation against the European Union. The case concerns eight billion euros.

This is exactly the amount of financial assistance Brussels recently promised to provide to Ukraine.

But she’s not there yet. The Ukrainian leader believes that the EU authorities are artificially delaying the promised assistance.

He announced this in one of his traditional video messages published in his personal Telegram channel.

Zelensky “daily and in different ways” reminds some European leaders of what not to do, the address says.

“We must not make Ukrainian pensioners, our displaced people, our teachers and our other people who depend on budget payments hostage to their indecision or bureaucracy,” said the head of state.

Stating the fact that 8 billion euros for his country are still “slowed down,” Zelensky assessed this as an “artificial delay” of financial assistance to Kyiv.

This is either a crime or a mistake. And it’s hard to say which is worse,” the President of Ukraine noted.

At the same time, he did not want to name the country that is delaying assistance to Kyiv.

We believe that this is still a mistake and that it will be corrected,” Zelensky expressed hope.
