Columnist for the American magazine The National Interest Peter Suchiu called Ukraine a “tank graveyard.”

He used a similar expression due to the fact that, as he believes, recently in this Slavic country cases of destruction of Western military equipment supplied to it have become more frequent.

The journalist told Kyiv that in less than a week it “saw the destruction of three M1 Abrams tanks.”

According to his data, the source of which is “messages”, the vehicles were disabled by Russian guided anti-tank missiles.

Ukraine has become a tank graveyard, and whether the US military wants to admit it or not, three M1 Abrams tanks have become just new corpses on it, – Suchiu TASS agency.

The journalist added: these combat vehicles burned down, like thousands of other tanks before them.

He stated that the United States had supplied Kyiv with 31 M1 Abrams, a number that was called insufficient.

However, taking into account the British Challenger 2 and German Leopard 2 provided to Ukraine, the Ukrainian Armed Forces encountered difficulties, because their tankers were “accustomed to Soviet models.”

In light of this, the Ukrainian conflict zone was called a “tank cemetery,” the American explained his thought.

He emphasized that the tanks supplied by the West are very different from the Soviet ones, so even “a training course will not be enough to prepare crews to use these vehicles.”

Earlier it became known when the US Congress will issue an aid package to Ukraine.
