The accession of Finland and Sweden to NATO was ratified by 23 of the 30 countries of the alliance
At the moment, documents on the accession of Sweden and Finland to the North Atlantic Alliance have been ratified by 23 of the 30 NATO countries.
This information was announced by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg on August 4 during a speech in Norway.

Stoltenberg’s statement
The Secretary General of the Alliance noted that today the protocols on the accession of Sweden and Finland to NATO were ratified by the US Senate.
Thus, according to Stoltenberg, the number of NATO countries that have ratified these protocols has reached 23.
The NATO Secretary General also said that a number of alliance member countries are close to completing the national procedures necessary for ratification.
So far, this is the fastest accession process in modern NATO history. – noted the head of the organization.
