The admiral sentenced the “wretched” British fleet

0views

Former Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Navy of Great Britain Alan West spoke about the state of the country’s Navy.

He described the state of Britain’s fleet as “wretched” – thus commenting on reports that 25% of British warships never went to sea during the year.

West gave an interview to the Daily Mail, reflecting his vision of the state of the British Navy.

According to the former admiral, the British fleet can perform a variety of tasks.

The range of tasks includes security and other activities.

The admiral believes that the British navy is not able to fully function due to insufficient finances.

He states that the UK has too few warships in both its territorial waters and its economic zone.

West believes that the British fleet is not able to ensure the security of maritime trade routes, and “the Russians are watching all this.”
