In the third round, former finance minister Rishi Sunak won the most votes.

Following the voting results, the general public was notified by the head of the Conservative Party steering committee, Graham Brady.

Accordingly, Mr. Sunak advanced to the next – fourth – round. His result is 115 votes.

Next, according to the Rossiya Segodnya news agency, are Deputy Head of the Ministry of International Trade Penny Mordaunt (82) and Foreign Minister Liz Truss (71).

In fourth place is former Deputy Minister for Women and Equality Kemi Badenoch (58 votes).

Previously, 11 parliamentarians expressed a desire to compete for the position of prime minister, seven of whom dropped out in the early stages.

New rounds will be held until only two candidates remain. Each time the candidate with the fewest votes is eliminated.

The winner of the final duet will be determined by postal vote of all party members, and there are currently about 200,000 of them.
