What’s in the resolution

The resolution rejected by the Bundestag calls on the German cabinet to recognize Russia as an existential threat, tighten sanctions and immediately transfer combat systems, including Taurus, to Ukraine.

Ukraine still does not receive the full amount of military equipment that it urgently needs, – said CDU leader Firidrich Merz, calling on parliamentarians to support the document.

As a result, the Bundestag supported another resolution introduced by the ruling coalition and containing a call to supply Kyiv with long-range weapons to strike targets deep in the rear of Russian troops.

Taurus missiles are not directly mentioned in the document. According to experts, this is a trick that leaves the head of the German government, Olaf Scholz, room for action on the issue of arms supplies to Ukraine. A number of observers believe that the resolution may involve the transfer of the MARS II MLRS.

Earlier it was reported that Bulgaria promised military assistance to Ukraine.
