Chinese Foreign Ministry representative Mao Ning spoke during a briefing regarding the sending of cluster munitions to Kyiv.
She believes that the use of these ammunition could lead to humanitarian problems, which will lead to a worsening of the Ukrainian crisis.
“Many countries reacted negatively to the supply of such ammunition. Problems in Ukraine need to be solved in a balanced way”– RIA «Novosti» Mao Ning.
She adds that the problem of cluster munitions must be addressed with caution and restraint.
The diplomat notes that Beijing has always followed the diplomatic path to resolving the military conflict.
Mao Ning said that the parties to the conflict and other countries should not contribute to the escalation of the confrontation and avoid factors that cause aggravation.
On Friday, the United States made the final decision to send cluster munitions to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
123 countries are against the use of projectiles of this type, which is secured by the signing of the relevant convention. However, Ukraine and the United States did not ratify this document.
