The Chinese Foreign Ministry responded to the State Department’s statement on assistance to Russia

The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs called the US threats regarding circumvention of anti-Russian sanctions and assistance to Russia unacceptable.

Statement from the State Department

As previously reported, the day before, the head of the press service of the US State Department, Ned Price, said that a possible circumvention of sanctions against Russia or the provision of weapons to it would cost China dearly.

The State Department spokesman also said that US Secretary of State Antony Blinken voiced this at a meeting with the head of Chinese diplomacy, Wang Yi.

How did the Chinese Foreign Ministry respond?

The representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry noted that Beijing invariably takes a fair and objective position on the Ukrainian issue.

According to Lijian, Beijing is firmly opposed to anyone expressing groundless suspicions and blatant threats against China.

The diplomat emphasized that China always opposes unilateral sanctions that flout international law.

Lijian called Washington the main culprit of the crisis in Ukraine, contributing to the escalation.

China stands on the side of peace and justice, – said a representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

According to him, the United States should take a responsible position, help resolve the Ukrainian crisis, and create conditions for peaceful negotiations.
