How Finland prepared for war with the Russian Federation

The commander of the Finnish Armed Forces said that the country was systematically building its defense in the event of hostilities similar to those currently taking place in Ukraine.

With the massive use of firepower, armored vehicles, aviation, – Kivinen noted.

According to him, for these purposes the country has created a significant arsenal of military equipment: there is a stock of cruise missiles with a range of up to 370 kilometers, 4 new warships and 64 F-35 fighters have been ordered from the American corporation Lockheed Martin.

In addition, Finland plans to purchase up to 2,000 UAVs and air defense systems, and is also building a fence on the border with the Russian Federation.

The general welcomed the decision to apply for NATO membership, noting that the country’s defense had been strengthened for decades.

The primary responsibility for Finland’s defense will continue to be borne by Finland itself, – Kivinen added.
