The Northern Mariana Islands court has declared Wikileaks founder Julian Assange a free man.

After announcing this decision, the world’s most famous truth teller, recently released from a British prison, shed tears.

According to journalists present at the scene, the judge congratulated Assange on his upcoming birthday.

And he – MIA “Russia Today” with reference to The Guardian – hugged representatives of his team and shook hands with American prosecutors.

Northern Mariana Islands District Court Judge Ramona Manglona addressed Assange as follows after the verdict was announced:

Mr. Assange, apparently, they congratulate you on your birthday in advance. I understand your birthday is next week. I hope you start your new life positively.

Let us remind you that the founder of Wikileaks was released from a British prison on June 24 (he spent 5 years there) after he agreed to a deal with US prosecutors to partially admit his guilt.

Assange’s release was welcomed in Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, Nicaragua and Cuba.

The International Federation of Journalists called this event a victory for journalists around the world.
