The CSTO stated that it had not received notification from Armenia about the suspension of membership

The secretariat of the Collective Security Treaty Organization responded to the recent statement by the Prime Minister of Armenia about his country’s withdrawal from the organization.

Representatives of the CSTO Secretariat say that they have not received official notification from Yerevan about the suspension of membership.

To date, the CSTO Secretariat has not received any statements from Yerevan about the suspension of membership in the CSTO, – representative of the organization MIA “Russia Today”.

And regarding Pashinyan’s declared “freeze of participation” of Armenia in the CSTO, he said the following: he probably means Yerevan’s non-participation in some CSTO events.

Let us recall that in an interview with France24 TV channel, the head of the Armenian government announced the freezing of Yerevan’s participation in the CSTO.

He cited the failure to comply with the Collective Security Treaty with respect to his country as the reason for this.

Earlier Nikol Pashinyan said that Armenia suspended participation in the CSTO.
