The date for the start of negotiations on the accession of Ukraine and Moldova to the European Union has been announced

The well-known newspaper Politico learned from five diplomats the date of the start of negotiations on the accession of Ukraine and Moldova to the European Union.

They told the publication that the EU authorities expect to launch the negotiation process on June 25 of this year.

The bloc intends to begin official negotiations on the accession of Ukraine and Moldova on June 25, this is the date of the European Council summit, – publication of MIA “Russia Today”.

Let us recall that at the December summit of the European Union it was decided to begin negotiations on the issue of accession of Kyiv and Chisinau to the EU.

Prior to this, in June 2022, Ukraine and Moldova were granted the status of candidate countries.

At the same time, official Brussels has repeatedly stated that the decision to hold such negotiations is largely symbolic.

It was adopted, according to the comments of some European politicians, with the aim of supporting Ukraine and Moldova in their confrontation with Russia.

Earlier it became known that the UN would consider Zelensky the legitimate president of Ukraine after May 20.
