In the city of Scranton (Pennsylvania, USA), a plant producing artillery shells, including for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, caught fire.

The company’s press service reported that the incident took place on Monday at 15:20 (22:20 Belarusian time).

The fire, as stated by the TASS press service, occurred in the heat treatment building.

Emergency personnel quickly responded to a fire at the Scranton Army Ammunition Plant.

The fire was extinguished, no one was injured. The cause of the fire is being investigated.

We are currently assessing the damage to determine the possible consequences for production facilities and production,” the press service said.

It is known that a fire occurred at the plant the day before US President Joe Biden arrived in the city.

The latter is expected to take part in two fundraising events for his election campaign on April 16 in Scranton.

Not so long ago, in February, the media wrote about the modernization of the mentioned plant due to the transition to more efficient production of 155 mm artillery shells, which was due to the current situation in Ukraine.

Previously, Biden did not want to testify in Congress about his family’s operations.
