Information has emerged about the plans of the leaders of the European Union countries regarding the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.

The Financial Times newspaper learned about the plans of influential politicians from its unnamed sources.

They reported that on Monday evening, June 17, European leaders expect to approve the re-election of Mrs. von der Leyen for a second five-year term.

No one is discussing a different outcome. The die is cast for her, – said one of the diplomats who read the article to the TASS agency.

According to the FT, candidates for two other key positions in the EU will also be discussed this evening: the head of the European Council and the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy.

But here the situation is not as clear-cut as in the case of von der Leyen, writes the Financial Times.

Earlier, Ursula von der Leyen in July provided Kyiv with 1.5 billion euros in income from Russian assets.
