The European Parliament announced Russia’s victory over Lithuania on the issue of transit to Kaliningrad

The European Commission has prepared a document allowing Russia to transport sanctioned goods through the European Union to Kaliningrad.

Auštrevičius said that there are heated discussions in Brussels on the issue of transit to Kaliningrad.

According to the politician’s forecasts, a decision will be made in favor of Russia.

Brussels is now very hot about transit to Kaliningrad. And it looks like Russia is winning for now, – wrote an MEP.

He said that several meetings on this issue took place in the structures of the European Union.

Lithuania insisted on its previous position, but one of the EU countries demanded a review of the regulation of the implementation of sanctions. The MEP did not specify what kind of country it was.

According to him, debates are currently underway, no agreements have been reached yet, but at one of the meetings they presented a document allowing Russia to transport goods through the EU to Kaliningrad.

The politician clarified that Lithuania was not mentioned in the document, but this information was brought to her attention.

By default, it is clear that it will affect Lithuania, – he added.
