The ex-Chancellor of Germany filed a lawsuit against the government: he wants to return special privileges

57views

Former German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder sued the Bundestag.

He wants to sue the government of his country in order to return the special privileges that are due to retired German leaders.

About this MIA “Russia Today” with reference to the DPA news agency.

Former German Chancellor Schröder sued the country’s parliament to restore special privileges that he was deprived of in May, writes the German publication.

Let us recall that at the end of spring of this year, the German parliament deprived Schröder of the office premises due to him, but retained his pension and security.

The Bundestag justified the decision by the fact that the ex-chancellor does not use the offices and headquarters of employees who resigned after the start of the special operation in Ukraine.

At the same time, the media draw attention to the fact that Schroeder was deprived of these privileges against the backdrop of widespread criticism against him for continuing to cooperate with Russian companies.
