In the United States, the FBI conducted searches of houses believed to belong to Russian billionaire Oleg Deripaska.

A number of American media reported this, noting that the searches were carried out for ten hours.

By now they have been completed. Representatives of the Federal Bureau of Investigation also searched the mansion, the owners of which, according to available information, are relatives of the businessman.

We are talking about a house in a prestigious area of Washington. A search was also carried out at Deripaska’s house in New York.

According to media reports, FBI agents blocked the streets closest to the houses during the searches.

The reason for such events is still unknown. Eyewitnesses and journalists talk about many boxes and folders with papers that department employees carried out of houses.

It is also reported that a black SUV was removed from the property in Washington.

American journalists suggest that the searches may be related to the investigation into the election campaign of former President Donald Trump.

Correspondents argue the hypothesis that the FBI allegedly suspects Deripaska of financing interference in the 2016 presidential election.

The White House has not officially confirmed this version.

In turn, representatives of the Russian businessman say that the searches are related to sanctions against Russia. According to them, the real estate is not owned by Deripaska personally, but by his relatives.
