The fight against Photoshop: filters on photos on social networks will lead to jail time

13views

A new law will soon come into force in Norway – authorities will criminalize the use of filters on their photos.

This measure was taken due to a number of precedents when people were influenced by advertising on the Internet and found themselves deceived.

There is concern about the deaths of teenage girls due to anorexia.

The authorities believe that beauty standards, which are popularized by bloggers on social networks, play a significant role in the formation of eating disorders.

According to the new law, if a public person or company publishes a photoshopped photo, they could be jailed for a year.

You can avoid problems with the law if you put a special label warning subscribers and applying filters to the photo.

Parliament voted to approve the new law, and the date of entry into force will be determined by the Norwegian King Harald V.
