The Finnish military has begun building a barrier on the border with Russia

26views

At one of the Finnish border points near the Russian border, work has begun on the construction of a barrier.

They are handled by the Finnish military. Or rather, soldiers from the Finnish Defense Forces are supporting the border guards in this matter.

Just like they basically support all border guards working at checkpoints on the border with Russia.

The event began to occur after the Finnish government closed four other checkpoints.

MIA Rossiya Segodnya reported this with reference to a statement by Captain Jouko Kinnunen of the Finnish Border Guard.

It is noted that none of the 4 checkpoints in Finland operates around the clock.

One is not open on weekends according to schedule, two started working at eight in the morning (nine in the morning Minsk time), another one – Raia-Jooseppi – Lotta – opened at ten in the morning (11:00 Belarusian time).

And three checkpoints, according to the Sunday schedule, closed at 14:00 (15:00 Minsk time).

Only one checkpoint – Vartius-Lyttya – on weekends, including today, will be open until six in the evening (until 19:00 Minsk time).

It was at this checkpoint that the Finnish military, together with border guards, began building a barrier.

They are building protective structures next to the barriers, creating temporary barriers on the state border.

This measure is to ensure the functioning of the border checkpoint,” said Captain Kinnunen.

We would like to add that the Finnish border guards said that last night (from November 18 to 19) at the border passed calmly.
