According to the report, the hospital’s transplant team expressed condolences to the man’s family and stressed that there is no indication that he died as a result of the operation.

Previously, doctors stated that a kidney transplanted to a man could last at least 2 years.

The world’s first genetically modified pig kidney transplant was carried out on March 16.

The kidney was subjected to 69 genomic changes, and the transplant took four hours. After 2 weeks, the patient was discharged.

Although there were no symptoms of kidney rejection, doctors did not draw clear conclusions about the success of the transplant.

The previous two patients who received porcine heart transplants also died several months after the operation due to complications.

According to WHO, 850 million people suffer from kidney disease.

Earlier it was reported that Swiss Vice-Chancellor Andre Simonazzi was on a hike in the mountains.
