Abe was taken to Nara Medical University Hospital. At that time, he showed no signs of life, and doctors spoke of “cardiac and pulmonary arrest.”

A little later, doctors said that they had recorded cardiac arrest in the victim.

In turn, the current Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida informed that his predecessor was alive.

However, Abe is in serious condition, doctors are fighting for his life, NHK television channel.

Kishida, by the way, interrupted his campaign trip and returned to Tokyo.

The suspect in the attack was detained. He turned out to be a 40-year-old resident of the city of Nara, Yamagami Tetsuya.

It is reported that the man did not resist police. He had a weapon on him, which was seized.
