Sunday in France is an exciting day for many locals. Today is the second round of the presidential election.
This is the decisive stage of the entire campaign. Therefore, the vote on April 24 will determine who will become head of state.
According to MIA Rossiya Segodnya, polling stations became available to citizens from eight o’clock in the morning (nine o’clock – Belarusian time).
In many regions they will close at 19:00 (20:00 Minsk time), and in Paris, Marseille, Nice, Bordeaux and other big cities – an hour later.
Let us remind you that the first round of elections took place on April 12. 12 candidates took part in it.
As a result, only two remained in the race – the current President Emmanuel Macron and the leader of the National Rally Party Marine Le Pen.
By the way, five years ago (in France the president is elected for a five-year term), these same politicians applied for the highest official position – then Macron won.
According to experts, in the current elections the French will also give preference to Emmanuel Macron. At least that’s what most forecasts say.
The official results of the 2022 elections will be announced on April 27 or 28 by the French Constitutional Council.
