French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna said that the country is working on a security agreement with Ukraine.
This information was announced by the head of the French Foreign Ministry on August 29 at a press conference with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba.

What agreement will France conclude with Ukraine?
As Colonna said, France has been working on a security agreement with Ukraine since the North Atlantic Alliance summit in Vilnius.
According to the minister, on the sidelines of the summit, the G7 countries expressed their readiness to conclude security agreements with Ukraine, and since then more than 20 countries have joined them.
The head of French diplomacy noted that she discussed this with Kuleba.
Whether we will be the first to conclude such an agreement, I don’t know. But it doesn’t matter, there’s no competition here – she said.
The column clarified that the agreement will have military and humanitarian aspects.
We are talking about continuing the assistance that our country has so far provided to Ukraine, and its extension for the long term, – explained the head of the French diplomatic service.
The minister also said that Paris is working on organizing a peace summit in Ukraine – an initiative of French President Emmanuel Macron.
Let us recall that at the Vilnius NATO summit, the Group of Seven countries adopted a declaration in support of Ukraine, but the security obligations mentioned in the document do not provide for specific implementation deadlines.
Kyiv expects that security guarantees will be operational before the alliance summit in Washington in 2024.
According to the Financial Times, security guarantees for Ukraine can be formalized in the form of bilateral agreements with the United States, Germany, France and other countries on military supplies, military training, long-term financing, etc.
