The German administration answered a question about the seizure of cars from Russia

A representative of the Ministry of Finance in the German Cabinet of Ministers answered a journalist’s question about the increasing number of cases of seizure of cars with Russian license plates.

He noted that the German administration complies with the provisions of the European Union rules banning the import of cars from Russia for subsequent sale.

RIA Novosti that earlier the media reported that in Germany, cases of seizure of cars with Russian license plates began to occur more often.

The owners of these vehicles are charged with violating the sanctions law “On Foreign Trade”.

A spokesman for the German authorities noted that he could not comment on individual cases. However, the basis for seizing cars is the 2014 EU regulation.

He notes that EU regulations are legally binding.

The representative notes that according to this regulation, it is impossible to transport goods that could benefit Russia and negatively affect the Ukrainian crisis.
