The German Defense Ministry does not confirm the refusal to create a leopard repair center in Poland

The German Ministry of Defense does not confirm the information that appeared in the media about the refusal to create a joint venture in Poland.

We are talking about a service and repair center for Leopard tanks participating in hostilities on the territory of Ukraine.

Not so long ago, journalists wrote that Berlin would allegedly soon officially announce that it refuses to create such a center in Poland.

The German Ministry of Defense assures that this issue is still on the agenda: negotiations with Warsaw continue.

Poland and Germany, as before, are pursuing the goal of restoring Leopard 2 tanks, – TASS agency representative of the ministry.

Earlier it was reported that Germany would officially announce its abandonment of this idea, which is due to “absolutely inflated price expectations on the Polish side.”

Some journalists reported that the decision on the center was “stuck” because of Poland, since its state company PGZ set a tariff of more than 100,000 euros for the initial inspection of tanks.

Against this background, the press cited the “price tag” in Germany: a similar service here costs about 12,000 euros.
