The happiest country on planet Earth has been named. Finland has been recognized as such for the seventh year in a row.

The corresponding assessment is presented in the annual World Happiness Report.

This document, as reported by TASS, is being prepared by a group of experts commissioned by the UN.

Following Finland in the ranking of the happiest countries in the world are Denmark, Iceland and Sweden.

The TOP 10 also included Israel, the Netherlands, Norway, Luxembourg, Switzerland and Australia.

Russia took 72nd place, behind Kazakhstan (49), but leaving behind Armenia (82) and Ukraine (105).

The last place (143) again went to Afghanistan. Please note that Belarus is not represented in the ranking.

When compiling the World Happiness Report, experts take into account the following indicators in each country studied:

– GDP per capita;
– level of social support;
– life expectancy;
– respect for civil liberties;
– job guarantees;
– level of corruption;
– some other criteria
.

The average values ​​obtained over a three-year period are taken as the basis.

The publication of the ranking is usually timed to coincide with the International Day of Happiness, celebrated on March 20.
