The head of the Bundestag’s defense committee criticized Scholz for refusing to transfer tanks to Ukraine
The head of the German parliament’s defense committee, Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann, criticized the head of the country’s government, Olaf Scholz, for refusing to transfer tanks to Ukraine.
Strack-Zimmerman says Scholz’s decision was alarmingly short-sighted.
The deputy stated this in an interview with RND.
How Strack-Zimmerman criticized Scholz
The deputy called the chancellor’s refusal to transfer tanks to Kyiv incomprehensible and frighteningly short-sighted, noting that she was tired of Scholz’s excuses.
Especially when I hear that the supply of tanks will mean a special provocation against Russia, – the parliamentarian added.
In her opinion, this indicates that the “Russian narrative” is working, keeping Scholz’s office from supplying tanks and armored personnel carriers to Ukraine.
Strack-Zimmerman stressed that Scholz was responsible for this decision.
I consider this refusal a very big mistake, – said the deputy, noting that she was angry that so much time was spent on absurd discussions.
The parliamentarian added that she intends to achieve supplies of weapons necessary for Ukraine next year.
We will insist on this until it is finally implemented, – summed up the head of the Bundestag defense committee.
