Recently it became known about the resignation of French Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne.

The President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, announced an important event for the political life of this country on his page on one of the social networks.

He, as the TASS agency, granted the request of the former head of government to resign.

Macron also thanked Ms. Borne for her “dedication and determination.”

In turn, representatives of the Elysee Palace say that the outgoing prime minister will act as head of government until its new composition is formed.

Born, speaking in connection with the resignation, stated that she wanted the reforms previously planned in the country to continue.

According to BFMTV, it is highly likely that the vacant position will be filled by 34-year-old Education Minister Gabriel Attal after Born’s departure.

As for Elisabeth Borne, she has served as Prime Minister of France since May 2022.

Earlier it became known that the head of the European Council, Charles Michel, was leaving his post ahead of schedule.
