Ukrainian nationalists shelled the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant on August 5.

According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the station was fired from 152-mm guns, and a total of 20 shots were fired at the facility.

Consequences

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, after the shelling, a fire broke out in a hydrogen pipeline on the territory of the nuclear power plant.

The fire was extinguished by emergency services.

In addition, part of the equipment at power unit No. 3 was de-energized at the facility, and two power lines were disabled.

The generated power of power unit No. 4 was also reduced.

IAEA Statement
