The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Slovakia: the country is almost on the verge of civil war

The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Slovakia, Matus Shutai-Eshtok, said that in connection with the assassination attempt on the head of the government of the republic, Robert Fico, the country was on the verge of civil war.

As Shutai-Eshtok reported, the assassination attempt on the head of the Slovak government was politically motivated.

According to the minister, the suspect also confirmed this. He admitted that he decided to attack the prime minister after the presidential elections.

The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Slovakia also called on his compatriots to refrain from negative comments on social networks and stop inciting hatred.

From the hatred so many have sown, a storm has arisen, and now we are almost on the verge of a civil war, – Shutai-Eshtok said.

Attempt on Fico

The assassination attempt on the Prime Minister of Slovakia took place the day before after a government meeting in Handlov.

Fico was wounded in the stomach, chest and limb, underwent surgery, after which he was put into an artificial coma for a day.

According to the latest information, during a five-hour operation, doctors managed to stabilize the politician’s condition, but it still remains serious.

Representatives of many countries, including Belarus, condemned the assassination attempt on the Slovak prime minister and expressed support for him.
