Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski called on Warsaw’s European partners to deploy missile defense systems on the border with Russia.

The head of the Polish Foreign Ministry made this statement at an online meeting with supporters of the Civic Platform party.

The event was broadcast on the social network X.

How Sikorsky proposed to partners to deploy missile defense systems to the borders of the Russian Federation

One of the meeting participants asked the minister whether it would be advisable for Poland to join the initiative to create a European missile defense system, the European Sky Shield (ESSI).

Answering the question, Sikorsky recalled that Poland borders the Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation, which, according to him, is Russia’s unsinkable missile cruiser.

The deployment of radars and anti-missile missiles to Polish territory would be very beneficial from the point of view of our Western neighbors, – said the head of Polish diplomacy.

The ESSI initiative was launched by Germany in 2022. On April 15, the head of the Polish government, Donald Tusk, following negotiations with the Prime Minister of Denmark, Mette Frederiksen, announced that Poland intends to join this project.

Earlier it was reported that Poland Kyiv is ready to help return Ukrainian conscripts to their homeland.
