The Russian Investigative Committee opened criminal cases against 160 mercenaries from 33 countries who fought on the side of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

This message was transmitted through the official Telegram channel of the RF IC.

It is reported that cases of mercenarism are being investigated – the Investigative Committee is cooperating with the Russian Ministry of Defense and other departments.

At the moment, evidence of the participation of mercenaries from Georgia, the USA, Latvia, Sweden and other countries is being collected.

At the end of May, the Investigative Committee reported that more than 2 thousand foreigners from 71 countries are fighting on the side of the Ukrainian Armed Forces against the Russian Armed Forces.

Russian troops continue to conduct a special military operation on the territory of the Ukrainian state.

The Ministry of Defense has repeatedly reported on the participation of mercenaries from other countries who are participating in hostilities on the side of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Western countries deny direct participation in the military conflict, but continue to regularly supply ammunition to the Ukrainian army.
