Foreign media distributed a statement by United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken about the death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi.

His words that the death of a politician could be beneficial for the people of the Islamic Republic were called boorish in Moscow.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said the people of Iran could benefit from the death of Ebrahim Raisi.

Essentially speaking, it’s a boorish statement regarding an entire people,” MIA quotes Dmitry Peskov as saying.

At the same time, the press secretary of the Russian president did not hide his amazement at the statement of a politician of such a level.

As Peskov clarified, at the time of the interview he had not personally seen Blinken’s speech in the original.

Still, he finds it hard to believe that an American official of that level could make such an “embarrassing statement.”

Let us recall that Blinken made his statement in response to a question from Senator Ted Cruz.

The senator asked whether it can be considered that after the death of Raisi the world has become a better place.

To this, the US Secretary of State said that the Iranians benefited from the death of the politician.

The official further added that the United States does not mourn the death of the Iranian president and would not declare a minute of silence at the UN.

Earlier it became known that the UN continues to consider Zelensky to be Ukraine.
