The law banning the canonical UOC in Ukraine was signed by Zelensky

188views

It recently became known that Vladimir Zelensky signed a law banning the activities of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church in his country.

Previously, the document was approved by the Verkhovna Rada, as stated on the official website of the parliament.

As the TASS agency is familiar with these events, the law should come into force 30 days after its publication.

The news agency draws attention: the bill was prepared on the direct instructions of the Ukrainian leader.

Last October, deputies of the Verkhovna Rada adopted it in the first reading.

But they did not bring it to the second reading for so long, fearing that the document might not receive the required number of votes from parliamentarians, which would cause discontent in the West.

And this year, on August 16, final amendments were made to the draft, after which the relevant committee of the Rada recommended its adoption.
