The life of Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico is still under threat after the assassination attempt and subsequent complex operation.

The Markiza TV channel informed the general public about this, citing its own source in the hospital where the politician is now staying.

The Prime Minister of Slovakia, after a complex operation that lasted several hours, is still in a life-threatening condition, – message from the media outlet Rossiya Segodnya.

Let us remind you that the assassination attempt on the head of the Slovak government occurred in the city of Gandlova, located approximately 190 kilometers from Bratislava.

A visiting meeting of the country’s government was held there.

At the end of the event, Fico came out to the gathered local residents – at that moment five shots were heard.

The media wrote that the prime minister was wounded in the shoulder and abdominal cavity.

The high-ranking official was taken by helicopter to a hospital in Banska Bystrica, where he was operated on and then put into an artificial coma.

The shooter was detained. According to law enforcement, he acted for political reasons.

In turn, the Slovak press reported that the attacker was 71-year-old writer Juraj Cintula.
