The Norwegian cruise ship Norwegian Dawn, which sailed to the shores of Mauritius, was urgently placed in a two-day quarantine.

Local authorities suspected that there might be an outbreak of cholera on board the ship.

According to MIA Rossiya Segodnya, citing USA Today, stomach illnesses began among passengers.

It is assumed that this may be cholera, writes the American publication.

He managed to contact one of the representatives of the Norwegian side, who said that the incident occurred during the Norwegian Dawn flight on February 13 to South Africa.

On the ship, a “small number of guests” experienced “mild symptoms of stomach-related illness.”

Due to local authorities demanding additional tests before being allowed to enter, the Mauritian government has delayed disembarkation for the current flight and boarding for the next one by two days until February 27, he said.

According to available information, an enhanced sanitary regime has been introduced on board the liner.

And journalists from USA Today and some other media outlets who were about to board the ship in the port of Mauritius “heard that the stomach illness was presumably related to cholera.”

It is noted: during the quarantine period, the Norwegian company Norge provides guests with free hotel accommodation until they are able to board the plane.

In addition, its employees help people on the ship with “further travel arrangements.”

According to the operating company, the cruise ship is designed to accommodate more than 2,300 passengers and over 1,000 crew members.

Earlier in China, a cargo ship bridge, a bus crashed into the water.
