Hayward notes that these summits are similar to the presence of a “crazy American president.”
An NYP columnist writes that Macron this week tried to “gently reason with” Biden, who supports the idea of limiting prices for Russian oil and calling on Middle Eastern countries to increase supplies.
Hayward said on the eve of the US president’s visit to Saudi Arabia in hopes of pushing for increased oil production, Macron told Biden that the Saudis and other major Gulf oil producers would not be able to help even if they wanted to because they were close to maximum capacity.
