The New York Times reports: Ukraine will not be invited to NATO at the summit in July

The world-famous American newspaper The New York Times has learned that what Ukraine hopes for will not happen at the upcoming NATO summit in Washington in July.

According to the publication, Kyiv will not be invited to join the North Atlantic Alliance.

The author of the article draws attention to: such statements were voiced by some representatives of the military-political bloc.

What Ukraine wants is a formal invitation to join NATO. But this will not happen during the celebrations planned for July, – publication of MIA “Russia Today”.

The newspaper cites NATO’s fear of being drawn into a conflict over Kyiv as the reason for NATO’s reluctance to see Ukraine in its ranks.

At the same time, the organization is trying to find some kind of compromise option, showing Ukraine that it will not leave it without long-term support.

However, the NYT notes, it is not yet entirely clear what exactly this option will be.

Earlier, Stoltenberg said that NATO is not considering the issue of the presence of troops in Ukraine.
