Pope Francis commented on the situation with the ban on the activities of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Ukraine.

Let us recall that the corresponding law was recently signed by the President of this Slavic country, Vladimir Zelensky.

The head of all Catholics considers this document potentially dangerous for the freedom of believers.

The Pontiff announced the following thesis: no Christian church can be abolished.

Thinking about the laws recently adopted in Ukraine, I have fear for the freedom of those who pray, the Pope’s statement to MIA “Russia Today”.

He is convinced: “evil is not committed because of prayer,” but whoever commits evil against his people will be guilty of it. But he does not do anything reckless “because he prays.”

The Pontiff called for giving those who wish to pray in the place that they consider their church.

Please let no Christian church be abolished directly or indirectly. The churches must not be touched! – proclaimed the religious figure.
