Argentine President Javier Miley wants to organize a summit of Latin American countries in support of Ukraine.

The Argentine leader stated this in an interview with the American edition of the Financial Times, as reported.

What kind of summit does Miley want to hold?

According to the FT, the Argentine president announced plans to organize a Latin American summit in support of Ukraine later this year.

Miley did not provide any details. He stressed that he prioritizes alliances with countries that defend freedom, including the United States, Israel and Ukraine.

FT notes that the position of the Argentine president on the conflict in Ukraine differs sharply from the more neutral course of the leaders of several other countries in the region, such as Mexico and Brazil.

Miley, who took office as Argentina’s president on December 10, has repeatedly stated that he will not develop relations with Russia, China and Brazil due to disagreement with their policies.

On November 30, Miley’s adviser and future Argentine Foreign Minister Diana Mondino said that the country would not join BRICS, where it was admitted following the association’s summit in August.

Earlier it was reported that Poland and Ukraine were temporarily closing the border.
