Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturian signed the ratification of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.
The relevant law will come into force 60 days after signing.

The situation with Armenia’s ratification of the Rome Statute of the ICC
On October 3, the Armenian parliament adopted a law ratifying the Rome status of the ICC. 60 deputies were in favor of ratification, 20 were against.
The opposition French “I have the honor” and “Armenia”, who boycotted the discussion of the bill, returned to the meeting room and voted against it.
Representative of the “Armenia” faction Artsvik Minasyan called the adoption of this law contrary to the Constitution, and accused the ruling “Civil Contract” faction of exceeding its powers.
The Republican Party, which is part of the “I Have the Honor” faction, stated that in the current geopolitical situation, ratification of the Rome Statute of the ICC is fraught with unpredictable consequences and will deal an irreparable blow to relations between Yerevan and Moscow.
Moscow regarded Armenia’s ratification of the Rome Statute of the ICC as an unfriendly step.
Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Mikhail Galuzin said that the ICC, which issued arrest warrants for representatives of the top leadership of the Russian Federation, is a politicized pro-Western structure that has nothing to do with justice and carries out orders for the criminal prosecution of persons disliked by the West.
The head of the Armenian government, Nikol Pashinyan, stated that Armenia is not changing its foreign policy vector, and the ratification of the Rome Statute of the ICC is not directed against Russia, since it was launched before the ICC issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin.
