Croatian President Zoran Milanovic said that Ukraine is being forcibly imposed on the country as an ally.
The Croatian head of state also criticized the leadership of the European Union.
The Croatian publication reports this.
What Milanovic said
Commenting on the proposal of the head of the Croatian government, Andrej Plenkovic, to organize training of Ukrainian military personnel in the country, Milanovic said that Ukraine is not an ally of Croatia.
Ukraine is not our ally, they are forcibly trying to make it one, they are cynically assigning it the status of a candidate for the European Union, – said the President of Croatia.
He also said that EU leaders are treating the Croatian authorities “like deaf-blind fools.”
I apologize to the deaf-blind people who visited me the other day, they are not fools, – Milanovich noted.
In addition, the head of the Croatian state said that no one elected the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, to this post, and called her “an ordinary bureaucrat.”
Previously, President Milanovic opposed the training of Ukrainian soldiers in the country, citing risks for Croatia. The Croatian Parliament also did not support this initiative.
