What the President of Finland called for

Niinistö said that it is important for Western countries to find a way to maintain relations with Russia against the background and after the end of the conflict in Ukraine.

The President of Finland clarified that there is no talk of friendship between the West and Russia.

I don’t mean some kind of strong friendship, but the ability to tolerate and even understand each other a little, – he explained, emphasizing that in order to avoid a new conflict, trust is necessary.

Niiniste noted that he cannot predict when the conflict will end and what life will be like when peace comes.

The President of Finland also said that countries supplying weapons to Ukraine need to take into account the risks of nuclear war.

According to him, the situation is very delicate, even little things can change it for the worse.

The risk of using nuclear weapons is enormous, – Niinist warned.
