President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev put forward an initiative regarding the Main Law of the country.
He proposes to organize and hold a national referendum on the issue of amending the Constitution.
According to the head of state, the proposed innovations are aimed at modernizing the national political system with a course towards its democratization.
When these reforms were proposed, we thought that the draft amendments to the Constitution would be considered by parliament. This is one of the procedures established by current legislation, – Tokaeva MIA “Russia Today”.

Therefore, speaking at a session of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, he proposed holding a constitutional referendum.
