The President of the Czech Republic, Milos Zeman, may be removed from office due to a sharp deterioration in his health.

Members of the upper house of the Czech Parliament made a corresponding call, foreign media reported.

The speaker of the Czech Senate, Milos Vystrcil, said that the chances of the recently hospitalized Zeman returning to work in the near future are minimal.

In such a situation, the measures provided for by the constitution should be applied.

One option is to remove the head of state from office. In this case, the duties of the president will be performed by the head of the government and legislative body of the country.

Milos Zeman was admitted to the hospital on October 10. Since then, the politician has been in intensive care.

The President of the Czech Republic is being treated in a department where patients at high risk of organ failure are treated.

According to foreign media reports, Zeman was diagnosed with hepatic encephalopathy.

However, there is information that doctors managed to stabilize the patient’s condition.

Milos Zeman won the 2013 Czech presidential election. Since then, the politician has been the head of the Czech state.
