TASS reported this with reference to the Kyodo agency, which writes that the Japanese Prime Minister arrived in Kyiv by train – from Poland.

Japanese television showed footage of a meeting of its high-ranking countryman at the railway station in the capital of Ukraine.

It is reported that Kishida was personally greeted upon arrival by the First Deputy Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Emine Dzhaparova.

According to reports, the Japanese Prime Minister will hold talks with President Vladimir Zelensky.

The media write that Kishida visited Ukraine for the first time after the start of the Russian military special operation.

By the way, until this day he was the last of the leaders of the G7 states who did not travel to the capital of Ukraine.

It is noted that the Secretary of the National Security Council of Japan Takeo Akiba and employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs arrived in Kyiv together with the Prime Minister.
