The Prime Minister of Latvia called the supply of fighter jets to Ukraine a matter of time

In the highest political echelons of Latvia, the issue of supplying combat fighters to Ukraine was called temporary.

This is the opinion of the country’s Prime Minister Krisjanis Karins, who stated that Latvia would have provided all the necessary military equipment for the Armed Forces of Ukraine itself if it had been on its balance sheet.

Prime Minister Karins believes that the supply of combat aircraft for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is a matter of time.

The politician made a corresponding statement in an interview with Spiegel, during which he expressed bewilderment at the existence of the issue as such.

In particular, Karins openly stated that he personally does not understand why the West should not transfer the requested fighters to the Ukrainians.

One frankness is replaced by another. Speaking on the topic of supporting Ukraine, the prime minister said that Latvia itself would have provided Kyiv with both tanks and planes, but they simply do not exist.

Also, the politician did not hide the fact that Ukraine must certainly join the European Union and, moreover, become a member of NATO.

Let us recall that it is the advance of the alliance to the east, as well as the placement of weapons of a potential enemy near the Russian borders that threaten national security. became the cause of tension in relations between Russia and the West.

Shortly before the start of the SVO, Moscow demanded written guarantees that the United States and NATO members would not pose a threat to Russia’s security, but this demand was ignored.
