During an inspection initiated by Russian law enforcement agencies, the property of the deputy head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Krasnodar Territory was seized.

The investigation found 250 million rubles, more than 50 real estate properties and more than 20 cars in the possession of Colonel of the Internal Service Sergei Simonenko.

The Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation demands that Colonel Simonenko’s property be converted into state income.

During the checks, it turned out that Simonenko and his family members have 250 million rubles in their bank accounts, they own over 50 real estate properties, including both residential premises and offices, reports citing sources.

It is also clarified that Simonenko and his relatives own a total of more than 20 cars.

Premium brands such as Zeekr, Lixiang L9, BMW X5 and BMW X6 were found in the colonel’s vehicle fleet.

Currently, the property of the Simonenko family has been seized. The Prosecutor General’s Office insists on turning the property into state income.

It is known that since 1988 Simonenko has served in the fire department.

In 2009, he took the position of deputy head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation for the Krasnodar Territory – head of the department of supervisory activities and was the chief state inspector for fire supervision.

In October 2018, he was dismissed from the Ministry of Emergency Situations upon reaching the service age limit, but in September 2022 he was reinstated, and in October 2023 he was appointed deputy head of the main department.

Simonenko was detained on July 31. A criminal case has been initiated against the official.
