The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted in the first reading a draft law on special guarantees for Poles.

Rada deputy Yaroslav Zheleznyak announced this on July 19 in his Telegram channel.

What guarantees are provided?

According to deputy Zheleznyak, the draft law provides for providing Poles with the opportunity to legally stay in Ukraine for 18 months.

Also, Polish citizens will be granted the rights to employment, economic activity, training in educational institutions, medical care and certain social benefits.

As the office of the President of Ukraine previously reported, the bill was initiated by Vladimir Zelensky as a sign of gratitude to the people of Poland for their support of Ukraine.

The bill provides for rights and guarantees for Polish citizens similar to those granted to Ukrainians in Poland by the law of March 12.
