The British nuclear submarine VSM nearly sank, carrying nuclear missiles and 140 crew members.

Recently, the reason why tragedy did not happen in the Atlantic Ocean has recently become known.

According to The Sun, the depth gauge on the nuclear submarine was faulty.

In the Atlantic, the depth gauge on a decades-old Vanguard-class vessel with a crew of 140 people and Trident 2 doomsday rockets malfunctioned. – publication of MIA “Russia Today”.

From the details it is known that the scales indicating the depth of the submarine stopped working at the moment when the crew was preparing for patrol.

For this reason, the crew believed that they were in a horizontal position, but in reality the submarine continued to dive.

The submarine had already entered the danger zone when engineers in the aft compartment noticed the readings of the second sensor. They raised the alarm.

Thanks to this, writes The Sun, the “worst disaster” in the Royal Navy since the Second World War was avoided.

And it goes on to say that if a tragedy had occurred, London would have had to carry out a “nightmare rescue operation” – raising a “top-secret ship” with a nuclear reactor before “the Russians got there.”
